7.10.09 Summit Raceway Recap

Last night and tonight is the Bruce Crowley Memorial Race, he was a great help out at our track for many years and his endless knowledge of racing will certainly be missed.

As for track conditions, can you say "dusty"? Pheew, last nights track was basically a sand-dune texture, and by the time the I.M.C.A. Modifieds had their race it was actually a relief that there was a yellow flag every few laps, just so the dust could settle down again.

Here is the crew chatting in the pits before the heat races.

It was certainly one of those nights that we call "survival of the fittest", 13 Mods started......5 finished. Luckily Corey (49T) was in that top 5...#5 to be exact. Chris (49c) placed 6th, but didn't finish because he had two yellows charged to him and got the black flag....sigh.....with 2 laps to go. I immediately sneezed after the black flag came out...laughed and proclaimed "I am allergic to those *$@! things". At least I thought it was funny, the timing couldn't have been more perfect! As for Bobby, he broke mid race, and DNF either.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to our 2 crew members who will be leaving us shortly.....
Thanks Makiel and Corbin for all of your hard work you have done for us....it's a grunts job and we really appreciate all you've done.....we are sure going to miss you guys.

Makiel tops off Bobby's (49A) car with fuel.

Corbin straps Chris' (49C) Hutchens device to his helmet.

Tonight 10/11/09 we will be back at the Summit Raceway track to try to have a great time...and hopefully all three of us will take the checkered flag. Hope to see you there, come cheer the guys on, and stop by the pits afterwards to chat and check out the cars!!
